Make sure you try the little meat pies with ground beef and olives or the pretzels / bread sticks and dip into virgin olive oil.

A walk to the town square you can sit on the chairs lined up around it or at the restaurants around the area, the local wine is luscious and delicious, the pasta and seafood are exquisite. Known for the locally made ice cream, made from the indigenous fruits, but your favorite chocolate ice cream is still on the menu.

You can take a long walk or a bike ride up the White Mountain through the gardens, vineyards and olive fields, or go down to the river and take the boat and fishing tour that takes you to the harbor where really fresh seafood markets and restaurants are available, some even cook right before your very eyes. The beaches are great with Riviera style cabanas and sun decks, the sand and water temperatures are always great never too cold or too hot, one of the best features of Greece and Crete with its usually sunny days.
